In 1973, the Miami-Dade Aviation Deparment (MDAD) instituted the Educational Tour Program. MIA offers free, daily (Monday – Friday) tours to the public, community and civic organizations, and to schools from throughout South Florida. The tours are provided by MDAD's Customer Service Division and last from 2 to 2½ hours in length. We accommodate children aged six and older (they must be in first grade).The program currently draws over 4,000 children and others to the airport each year. The tours include an exciting exploration of MIA's airfield as well as its Midfield Fire Department, Federal Agencies (when available) and special terminal building visits. We will provide informative and fun handouts for the children. Tours can be specifically designed to fill special requests or geared toward other aviation/airport interests such as:

Our trained staff provides information relating to career opportunities within the aviation industry, including more than 32,000 jobs available at MIA, and information about our daily operations as one of the busiest airports in the world.
