Who: Miami International Airport (MIA) and Sunglass Hut will host a grand opening for the chain’s new store at MIA. Steve Baker, Miami-Dade Aviation Department Deputy Director, and Emma Horns, Vice President of Luxottica Group S.P.A., Sunglass Hut’s parent company, will be in attendance.
What: The Sunglass Hut store will hold a ceremonial opening after moving its operations from a concourse kiosk last November. Since that time, sales at the store have skyrocketed 30 percent with an average of 800 pieces of merchandise sold every week. The grand opening event will feature a raffle for two pairs of Revo sunglasses valued at $279 each, a fashion show of Sunglass Hut brands, steel band musical entertainment, giveaways, and refreshments.

Background:Sunglass Hut is the third retailer in the Central Terminal Retail Transition Plan to open since the beginning of Fiscal Year 2005, joining Au Bon Pain and AltiTUNES.
