Miami International Airport (MIA) opened again for operations at 9:32 p.m. The airport was closed to all incoming and outgoing commercial aircraft traffic for 3 ½ hours. The first expected flight outbound is LAUDA AIR, LAB and AEROLINEAS ARGENTINAS. No information is available at this time on inbound flights. All General Aviation Airports remain closed until Saturday morning.
Passengers are encouraged to call each airline to ensure that their flights have been reinstated. Passengers are also advised to contact individual airlines for the revised scheduling of arriving and departing flights before coming to the airport. Only ticketed passengers should come to the airport during the first 24 hours of operation to ease possible overcrowded conditions.
Miami-Dade Aviation Department employees are to report to their work stations at their regular shifts.
