(Miami-Dade County, Florida) – An exhibition highlighting the Rhythm Foundation’s 20th season of presenting outstanding international artists in South Florida is now on exhibit at Miami International Airport.
The Rhythm Foundation, a non-profit organization, is celebrating its 20th season as the leading presenter of world music in South Florida. Its programs focus on Miami's position as a crossroads for the Americas, bringing traditional sounds, established legends and innovative young groups to the region's diverse residents and visitors.
The selection of concert photographs by Luis Olazabal highlights some of the great musical moments of the past 20 years. Among those artists on exhibit are: legendary 89-year-old Cuban pianist and three-time Grammy-award winner Bebo Valdes; Grammy-award-winning Brazilian singer, guitarist and songwriter Gilberto Gil; and sitarist, composer, and the daughter of sitar virtuoso Ravi Shankar, Anoushka Shankar.
This exhibition is open to the general public and is located between Terminal H - J on the 2nd level at MIA. The Rhythm Foundation, Celebrating 20 Years of Rhythm 1988-2008, is a component of the broader mia Galleries Exhibition Program, created for the purpose of humanizing the airport environment with cultural and educational experiences.
