(MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL) – On Thursday, September 7, the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) and the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) will begin training all employees at Miami International Airport (MIA) in Behavior Pattern Recognition – the first such training at any U.S. airport.
The technique, which identifies suspicious behavior, was first introduced in the U.S. by Rafi Ron, President of New Age Security Solutions and former security director for Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Miami-Dade Police officers stationed at MIA have been using Behavior Pattern Recognition since January 2006, but this is the first time at a U.S. airport that civilian employees will be trained.
