(Miami-Dade County, Florida) – LAN Argentina has announced that it will begin international service with one daily flight between Miami and Buenos Aires on December 1, 2005.
The non-stop overnight flight will depart Miami International Airport (MIA) daily at 8:15 p.m. and arrive at Buenos Aires’ Ezeiza International Airport at 7:05 a.m. the following morning. The return flight will depart Ezeiza International Airport daily at 10:15 p.m. and arrive at MIA at 5:25 a.m. the next day. The Miami route is the first international operation for LAN Argentina, which joined the LAN service alliance earlier this year. In addition, low-cost carrier Alaska Airlines reinstated its daily flights between Seattle, Washington and MIA on November 1, after a four-month hiatus.
“We are extremely excited that LAN Argentina chose MIA as its first direct route outside of South America, and that Alaska Airlines is again providing non-stop service to Seattle,” said José Abreu, P.E., Miami-Dade Aviation Director. “Our roster of 71 scheduled passenger carriers and 17 charter carriers continues to grow, and we look forward to adding many more.”
