Miami-Dade County – MONDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2005 through TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2005: SR-953/LeJeune Road (NW 42nd Avenue) from NW 14th Street to NW 25th Street will be completely closed nightly from 10:00 P.M. TO 5:00 A.M. This closure will also include the Northbound LeJeune Road On-Ramp to Miami International Airport (MIA); SR-836 Eastbound and Westbound Exit Ramps to Northbound LeJeune Road, Eastbound NW 21st Street On-Ramp from LeJeune Road, and the Central Boulevard (NW 21st Street) Exit Ramp from MIA to Southbound LeJeune Road. Access exiting MIA to Northbound LeJeune Road/SR-112, Northbound LeJeune On-Ramp to Westbound SR-836 and Southbound/SR-112 On-Ramp to Miami International Airport will be maintained open at all times. Detour routes outlined below will be clearly marked on the roadways and major intersections and ramps will have police officers to facilitate traffic movement.
DETOUR ROUTES: Airport Traffic from SR-836 Eastbound Direction: Eastbound SR-836 traffic should exit at NW 45th Avenue, turn left and travel to NW 13th Street, turn right and continue to NW 14th Street, turn right and continue to NW 37th Avenue. On NW 37th Avenue, turn left until NW 21st Street (Central Boulevard) and turn left to continue to Miami International Airport.
Airport Traffic from SR-836 Westbound Direction: Westbound SR-836 traffic should exit at NW 37th Avenue (Douglas Road), turn right and continue to NW 21st Street, turn left and continue on NW 21st Street (Central Boulevard) to the entrance of Miami International Airport.
Airport Traffic from Northbound LeJeune Road: Northbound LeJeune Road airport traffic should turn right on NW 14th Street and continue to NW 37th Avenue. On NW 37th Avenue, turn left and continue to NW 21st Street (Central Boulevard), turn left and continue to the entrance of Miami International Airport.
Miami International Airport Traffic to Northbound LeJeune Road: Traffic exiting Miami International Airport to Northbound LeJeune Road can continue on Central Boulevard (NW 21st Street) and take the SR-112/Northbound LeJeune Road (Exit 2/3) as usual.
Miami International Airport Traffic to Southbound LeJeune Road: Traffic exiting Miami International Airport to Southbound LeJeune Road will need to continue on NW 21st Street (Central Boulevard) Exit 1 to NW 37th Avenue, turn right and continue to NW 14th Street, turn right and continue to LeJeune Road and turn left to continue in the southbound direction.
SR-836 Eastbound to Northbound LeJeune Road: Eastbound SR-836 traffic should exit at NW 45th Avenue, turn left and travel to NW 13th Street, turn right and continue to NW 14th Street, turn right and continue to NW 37th Avenue (Douglas Road), turn left and continue to NW 25th Street, turn left and continue until LeJeune Road and turn right to continue in the northbound direction.
SR-836 Westbound to Northbound LeJeune Road: Westbound SR-836 traffic should exit at NW 37th Avenue (Douglas Road), turn right and continue to NW 25th Street, turn left and continue until LeJeune Road and turn right to continue in the northbound direction.
Northbound LeJeune Road Traffic: Northbound LeJeune Road traffic should turn right on NW 14th Street and continue to NW 37th Avenue. On NW 37th Avenue, turn left and continue to NW 25th Street, turn left and continue to LeJeune Road and turn right to continue in the northbound direction.
Southbound LeJeune Road Traffic: Southbound LeJeune Road traffic should continue on LeJeune Road to NW 25th Street and turn left, continue to NW 37th Avenue (Douglas Road), turn right and continue to NW 14th Street, turn right and continue to LeJeune Road and turn left to continue in the southbound direction.
These closures are required for safety reasons during the placement of the beams for the new bridge for the exit ramps from the future Miami Intermodal Center to Central Boulevard (NW 21st Street). This work is being done at night in order to lessen the impacts to the traveling public.
