(Miami-Dade County, FL) - An exhibition of more than 50 works of art by 11th grade visual communications students at Miami-Dade County’s Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH) is currently on display at Miami International Airport (MIA) in Concourse C. The exhibition, which features soft lighting and warm colors and includes photography, computer-generated art and paintings, is designed to be a pleasant distraction for travelers as they walk through the concourse.
“The goal of this project was to create an intimate interior space, much like a hallway you would find in someone’s home,” said Yolanda Sanchez, Ph.D., Manager of MIA’s Fine Arts and Cultural Affairs Division. “Similar to the other displays in MIA’s Exhibition Program, the DASH project helps to make a passenger’s travel experience a little more enjoyable.”
The Exhibition Program was created for the purpose of humanizing the airport environment by providing cultural and educational experiences for passengers and the meeters and greeters that accompany them. Exhibits at MIA continually change every three to six months.
Concourse C, 2nd level is open to ticketed passengers only.
