(Miami-Dade County, FL) – Miami International Airport’s Central Terminal area is undergoing a makeover this spring that will create 19 new retail store locations featuring national name brands, open storefront designs, bright décor and affordable prices.
Among the stores scheduled to open before May 2006 are Prestige Signatures, Havana Shirts, Ron Jon Surf Shop, Francini Jewelry, Borders Bookstore, Dunkin Donuts, Jetsetter Mini Spa, and Hudson News and Newslink newsstands - all located between Terminal E and H.
Brookstone, a specialty retailer of distinctive consumer products, and Mindworks, which sells nostalgic and modern toys, games and electronics, both opened in December 2005, locations in Terminal F and E, respectively. A $10 Boutique store in Terminal G also opened in December.
Westfield Concession Management, Inc., developer of the Central Terminal Retail program at MIA, has also rolled out a marketing theme and logo to go along with MIA’s fresh new look – “100% Pure Miami Shopping,” with a logo comprised of a Florida orange on top of a barcode image.
“The theme of our Central Terminal Retail program – “100% Pure Miami Shopping” - really tells the story of our new stores,” said Miami-Dade Aviation Director José Abreu, P.E. “They are visually refreshing and reflect the style and caliber of a hot selling destination like Miami. The opening of these new stores is another step toward MIA becoming one of the premier airports in the world.”
