Alicia Riesgo is the Director of the Customer Initiatives Division for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD), which includes the Customer Service and Special Events units, as well as Miami International Airport’s Volunteer Ambassador Program.

Riesgo has more than 28 years of experience in public and customer relations. Before joining MDAD in 2019, Riesgo was the Public Relations Coordinator for the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD), responsible for managing, reviewing and providing resolution to complex customer inquiries and complaints. She also coordinated community outreach events and activities.

She started her Miami-Dade County career in 1991 with WASD in the Retail and Final Bills Division. She transitioned to the Customer Service Division in 1995, where she supervised its front desk and lien unit. In 1999, she was appointed Tampering Unit Supervisor, responsible for reaching resolution of personnel affairs, reporting on issues related to tampering enforcement and collection, and achieving the collection of fees due to the department with a high rate of success.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resources from St. Thomas University. She has also undergone the Disney Institute Approach to Quality Service and Miami-Dade County Service Excellence training programs.
