Project Summary:
The project replaces 126 existing airport passenger boarding bridges (PBB). It includes the design, fabrication, transportation, and installation of pre-conditioned air units, baggage chutes, and ground support equipment for each boarding bridge.
Phase 1: Installation of 32 new loading bridges, including two glass bridges. 10 more glass bridges under this phase are pending solicitation. A total of 42 PBBs will be replaced.
Phase 2: The installation of 50 glass loading bridges. Two additional bridges are currently under proposal to be included.
Project Benefits:
Modernized boarding bridges to improve the travel journey.
Boarding bridges with air conditioning.
Impact glass allows passengers to view the airfield.
The capability to accommodate A380 aircraft.
Project Title: Advanced Visual Guidance Docking System (AVGDS)

Project Summary:
Installation of an innovative device at each gate that automatically guides the pilot to park without the need of an aircraft marshal. Marshallers cannot work during inclement weather. Therefore, the AVGDS helps avoid delays upon arrival and takeoff.

Avoid storm-caused delays, which helps passenger satisfaction.
Save time for aircraft parking.
Reduce aircraft fuel emissions.
Title: Central Base Apron Expansion
Project Timeline:

Project Summary:
Construction of new apron area for American Airlines hangar #3095, additional aircraft parking, and replaced 34.1 acres of pavement in Central Base.
Project Benefits:
Provides improved support for larger aircraft.
Maximizes aircraft parking space.
Improves the area's stormwater drainage and lighting.
Title: Taxiway R, S, & T Pavement Rehabilitation Project
Project Timeline:

Project Summary:
This project consists of three main components: Taxiways S and T pavement rehabilitation,
Taxiway connector M5 modifications, and Taxiway R realignment and extension.
Project Benefits:
Will provide increased reliability and safety to several vital components at MIA, mitigate recurring pavement and airfield lighting maintenance, thus reducing the impacts to the airside operations.
This project will also present increased opportunities and efficiencies to our cargo operators and allow for the development of future cargo areas in the northwest sector of MIA.
Title: West Cargo Fuel Tender Facility Relocation Project
Project Timeline:
Completed: Winter 2021
Project Summary:
Replaced an existing 6-bay jet fuel refueler loading facility with a larger facility comprising 8 jet fuel refueler loading bays and one diesel loading bay, a filtration building and an operations building.
The scope of work included site remediation, construction of the new fuel tender facility, enhanced control, emergency fuel shut-off, fire suppression and security systems.
Project Benefits:
Expanded the existing MIA west cargo apron area.
Allowed taxiway expansion to accommodate class VI aircraft (Airbus A380).
Increased number of loading bays at the fuel tender to support cargo aircraft fueling growth.
Project Title: Water Storage Tank
Project Timeline:
Completed Fall 2021
Project Summary:
The project replaced one of two 250,000-gallon storage tanks at AAR building 850. The water tank is utilized for fire protection.
Project Benefits:
The new tank helped repair the fire protection system.
