• The project includes the replacement of the existing airfield fence with a new design guideline standard high-security fence.

Project Title: Terminal Garages Exterior Cladding

Project Summary:

• Addition of aesthetic exterior, enhancing the airport’s parking garages and their façades.

Project Benefits:

• Provide a visually appealing exterior of the airport’s parking garages.

Title:  FDR & MIA Westin Hotel 

Project Timeline: 

• Groundbreaking and scheduled completion to be determined.

Project Summary: 

• Construction of a new hotel in the MIA parking garage area. The hotel will provide up to 450 rooms, a full-service restaurant and bar, pool, conference and event space, fitness center, spa, and valet service. 

Project Benefits:   

• Convenient on-airport hotel with direct access to the terminal area. 
• Job opportunities for the local community. 
• Enhanced customer service and new amenities for MIA passengers.

Project Title: MIA Airport Operations/Emergency Center (AOC/EOC)
 
Project Timeline:  

• Groundbreaking: Spring 2026
• Scheduled Completion: 2027

Project Summary:

• The Airport Operations/Emergency Center (AOC/EOC) facility will join and consolidate the operations of multiple Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) divisions and outside agencies.
• The facility will also include a Virtual Gate Control Room. 

Project Benefits:

• Comprehensive oversight of daily operations.
• Improved situational awareness, communications, and overall response to day-to-day activities.
• Increased airport efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Project Title: Future-Ready Perishables Facility

Project Timeline:

• Groundbreaking: Summer 2025
• Scheduled Completion: 2027

Project Summary:

• A 272,000-sq.-ft. of cold storage space for perishables, the largest phytosanitary treatment & coldchain processing facility in the U.S, and the 1st phytosanitary/non-chemical treatment facility in Florida.

Project Benefits:

• Projected to support 200 jobs.
• Expected to reduce spoilage/delays of 1.5M tons of cargo annually.

Project Title: PS MIA

Project Timeline:

• Groundbreaking: Summer 2025
• Scheduled Completion: Spring 2026

Project Summary:

• Restoration and remodeling of the historic Pan Am Building, to be used for VIP services for commercial airline flights. 
• The facility will include dedicated TSA and CBP facilities, a private kitchen, a salon, and 7 private suites.

Project Benefits:

• Restoration of a historic aviation landmark. 
• Additional facilities and services for passengers.

Project Title: Ibis Parking Garage

Project Timeline:

• Groundbreaking: February 2024
• Completed December 2025

Project Summary:

• The seven-level, 2,240-space facility provides additional parking spaces for passengers and employees.
• Each level has two pedestrian connections to the Flamingo Garage.

Project Benefits: 

• 50 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, 34 oversized vehicle parking spaces, and 34 ADA parking spaces.
• Energy-efficient LED lighting fixtures.
• ParkSmart Silver Certification - the global certification program that defines, measures, and recognizes high-performing, sustainable garages.

Project Title: DHL Expansion 

Project Timeline:

• Completed Winter 2021

Project Summary:  

• DHL Courier interior completion of an additional 60,000 sq. ft. of warehouse and office space. The project included a state-of-the-art equipment for an automated package sorting system.

Project Benefits: 

• DHL expanded its warehouse to better serve the demand of the transfer of goods in South Florida.
• The project is to increase DHL capacity by nearly 30% by the end of 2022.
• The new automated package system nearly doubled the facility’s sorting capacity per hour.
• New job opportunities for the community.

Project Title: MDAD Administration & Landside Employee Office Relocation

Project Timeline:

• Scheduled completion to be determined

Project Summary:

• The project consists of interior modifications to an area in Concourse D to accommodate new offices for Administration and Landside Divisions.

Project Benefits:

• The new offices will allow Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) employees to be centrally located at the airport.
• Employees will have better access to their offices and increased efficiency for collaborating across teams.

Title: FedEx Gate Expansion

Project Timeline:

• Completed November 2021

Project Summary:

• The project expanded the FedEx Sortation Facility, modified the existing parking location, and increased the space for aircraft parking.

Project Benefits:

• The tenant can process more cargo due to the increase in aircraft parking spaces, thus increasing MIA’s total cargo tonnage.
